It includes :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>7 theory tests<\/strong> (regulations, management, safety, French, English, business development, specific VTC regulations).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>1 practical test<\/strong> of approximately <strong>20 to 30 minutes<\/strong>This was marked out of 20 points and assessed driving, safety, customer relations and invoicing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Official cost (2025)<\/strong> : 237 \u20ac.<br>Once they have passed the exam, candidates apply for their <strong>VTC professional card<\/strong> with the prefecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cost<\/strong> 57.60 + postage and packing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Validity<\/strong> 5 years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Renewal<\/strong> : conditional on <strong>14 hours of compulsory further training<\/strong> at an approved centre.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The card must be <strong>displayed on the windscreen<\/strong> of the vehicle while carrying out the activity.<br>\ud83d\udc49 For more details, see our article dedicated to the VTC exam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The operating framework<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Legal status and registration<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>VTC drivers must operate under a <strong>registered legal form<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>SASU or EURL<\/strong> These are the most suitable forms, allowing deduction of actual expenses, depreciation of the vehicle and recovery of VAT.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Micro-business<\/strong> Deduction of actual expenses (fuel, insurance, depreciation): not recommended, as it prevents actual expenses (fuel, insurance, depreciation) from being deducted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration is done via the <strong>One-stop shop for businesses<\/strong>with a corporate object specifying <em>operation of chauffeur-driven transport vehicles<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Entry in the register of VTC operators (REVTC)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration is compulsory in order to practise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Cost<\/strong> 170 (valid for 5 years).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Documents to be supplied<\/strong> The following documents are required: business card, proof of insurance, Kbis\/SIREN extract, vehicle registration document and financial capacity (\u20ac1,500 if not a long-term owner or tenant).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Penalties for absence<\/strong> up to <strong>1 year's imprisonment and a \u20ac15,000 fine<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The vehicle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mandatory technical criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The vehicle used must meet strict standards:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table rear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ordering<\/strong> On the REVTC register website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cost<\/strong> Approx. \u20ac35.<br>Exterior illuminated signs (\"Taxi\" type) are strictly prohibited.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Professional insurance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The two compulsory insurance policies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La <strong>Th\u00e9venoud law (2014)<\/strong> requires VTC drivers to take out two separate insurance policies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Civil liability for traffic (RC Pro Circulation)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Covers <strong>property damage, bodily injury and consequential loss<\/strong> caused to third parties <strong>while driving<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This is the professional equivalent of car insurance, but adapted to the commercial use of the vehicle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Average annual cost<\/strong> : 2 500 \u20ac \u00e0 3 250 \u20ac.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Operating liability (RC Pro Exploitation)<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Covers damage caused by <strong>outside of driving<\/strong> Damaged baggage, customer falls, damage caused by delays, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Average annual cost<\/strong> : 100 \u20ac \u00e0 300 \u20ac.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Failure to take out insurance exposes you to <strong>a fine of up to \u20ac3,750<\/strong> and <strong>withdrawal of professional card<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recommended additional cover<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Certain guarantees are strongly recommended for a sustainable business:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Comprehensive insurance<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Legal protection<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>0 km assistance<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Compliant replacement vehicle<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Daily compensation in the event of immobilisation<\/strong> (\u20ac150-180\/day),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Replacement value guarantee<\/strong> to limit financial loss in the event of an accident.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Operating obligations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ban on marauding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>VTC drivers may not <strong>park or drive around looking for customers<\/strong> without prior reservation.<br>After an errand, if there is no new mission, he must return to his headquarters or park in an authorised area (car park, garage).<br>La <strong>electronic marauding<\/strong> is also prohibited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On-board documents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The driver must be able to produce the following for any inspection:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sa <strong>VTC professional card<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>L'<strong>certificate of professional liability insurance<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>L'<strong>Kbis extract<\/strong> or proof of registration,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le <strong>certificate of registration in the REVTC register<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le <strong>reservation contract<\/strong> or proof thereof.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Controls and penalties<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Checks are carried out regularly, particularly around stations and airports.<br>Since <strong>1st July 2025<\/strong>three short stories <strong>fixed penalty fines (AFD)<\/strong> are generalized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Illegal practice of the taxi trade,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failure to register as a VTC,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pick-up without prior reservation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Amount<\/strong> between <strong>400 and \u20ac1,000<\/strong>depending on the severity and recurrence of the offence.<br>Other offences (lack of insurance, non-conformity of vehicle, etc.) can result in a fine of up to <strong>one year's imprisonment<\/strong>, <strong>15,000 fine<\/strong>the <strong>confiscation of the vehicle<\/strong> or the <strong>licence suspension<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In a nutshell: the checklist for a compliant driver<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2705 B driving licence for more than 3 years and validated medical aptitude.<br>\u2705 VTC exam passed (theoretical and practical) and professional card obtained (\u20ac57.60, 5 years).<br>\u2705 14 hours of further training before each renewal.<br>\u2705 Company created and registered (SASU or EURL recommended).<br>\u2705 Entry in the REVTC register (\u20ac170, 5 years).<br>\u2705 Vehicle complies with standards, checked every year.<br>\u2705 VTC sticker affixed to the front and rear.<br>\u2705 Road traffic and operating liability insurance taken out.<br>\u2705 Marauding ban strictly enforced.<br>\u2705 All receipts on board for each mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator
